Awesome beer, awesome haxe. Worth travelling from afar to experience. Second visit confirmed how good i remember it from the first time.
Good place to hang with friends and get a few beers. Nice location close to the rhine as well.

Love the “Alt-Bier” ... traditional German brew house atmosphere and good drink and food menu
Nie wieder/never again: long brewing traditions, delicious beer, and food multiplied by the most unprofessional and rude service I've experienced. Objective disadvantages: 1) only cash and no note/no explanation about it, i.e. you get informed at the end of your visit, 2) no client-orientated approach - you feel like a number in the line. And now some words about my subjective experience: A waiter acted as if I owed him, due to the fact that I decided to visit this place. I was there for the first time and, the local specifics such as the inability to pay by card, local beer varieties, evening menu, etc.were unknown to me. Instead of help or short clarifications, I was rudely greeted with the phrase - "you need to register due to Covid 19, using the bar code otherwise leave the house". Then the waiter ran away on his own business, leaving me without any explanations for the procedure and even a menu. After 5 minutes of expectation, I kindly ask him (while he was running to the guests sitting in front of me) for a menu. Instead of the menu, I received a rude phrase "what will you drink - was trinkst du?". I automatically asked for the most famous type of beer in Düsseldorf - "Alt". The menu (only for the served food options) appeared with the first glass of beer after a couple of minutes. By the way, I chose my dish enjoying the beer. The food was brought quickly and it was really delicious. At the same time, no explanation about the types of beer served, no drinks menu was provided to me at all! After deciding to pay for my dinner, I called my extremely busy waiter again. And then the surprises began. It turned out that it is possible to pay in cash only and that "everyone knows about it and it has always been like that". Further, instead of trying to find solutions, threats and demands came from the waiter. He almost forcibly tried to take my ID from my wallet. Leaving my waiter another document (not ID, but also my identity document - actually, it was not easy to do, since he refused to accept it -) I had to find an ATM of my bank and return to the famous beer house. It is pitty, but I have not received any even formal apologies, not even a hint of them from my waiter. In this regard, I had to complain to his colleagues and the manager of the beer house. I hope that the promise will be kept and some actions will be undertaken. My subjective advice to the management of this place (you can follow it or not, it's your own business) - the client does not have to know the rules and features of your beer house in advance. If only local customers (regulars) are important to you, then this is your marketing strategy, which I am not going to interfere with either. Perhaps not all of your waiters are so rude and unprofessional as I came across. But the name of your beer house, in my opinion, fundamentally does not correspond to the level of service that was provided on 10/04/2020. To be honest, I was shocked by this behavior, since I have not met such an attitude in any country in the world, and especially in Germany. By the way, I visited directly another famous place for a couple of "Alt" and my experience there was positive.
Nice friendly place
Awesome beer near the Rhein. It was my first beer ever 5 years ago :) great memories
Home is where your Uerige is
Cool
Delicious beer and great food. I can't recommend the Himmel und Ähd enough!
Nice
Traditional brewery in Düsseldorf. I had barely seated and there was already a glass of Alt in front of me. Quick service, friendly staff (even for my poor German) and good small food to pair with the beer.
A classic for us is getting a couple Altbier either inside or outside and ordering their Mett-Broetchen" which is basically pork tartare with fresh onions on a fresh bread roll. No worries about trichina in Germany, it is part of the meat health check in Germany. It is as safe as regular steak tartare. 10/10
Always good.
One of the oldest breweries and my favorite one in Dusseldorf, I enjoy the atmosphere and there speciality of Alt Beer and Food. You can sit at any table with other people and you will discover the other face of Dusseldorf, the citizens who are friendly and welcoming visitors.
It's a very nice place with fresh beer!We love it with my husband. But I had once here expirience with waiter, pitty that I don't know his name. I pick up a hand to call him and he came and said in an ill-mannered tone, " don't need to call me with a hand NATASHA!!!!" 🤨🤦♀️It was like he hate all slovenian people, that I'm not German and was speaking Russian.I was shocked and remember this accident since today. So I can advise this place ,but you have to be ready to meet inhospitable if you speak another language....
This is the best pub in the city!Very friendly staff, very good beer and beautiful place! Thanks!
Nice big terrace in Düsseldorf Altstadt to drink one of the most traditionals AltBier from the city.
Friendly staff and great beers!
A must go when in Düsseldorf. I am not a beer drinker, but really enjoyed this beer. We sat outside and enjoyed talking with the locals. They replace your empty glass with a full one. If you are done, just place the coaster on your glass and they won't replace with a full glass anymore.
An expression of a beer lovers feelings

Great bar, great beer.
Great draft beer!
Dusseldorfs original beer. Refreshing and easy, don't let the darker color fool you. Also try the ham hock (pigs knuckle), the baked - house specialty. Don't miss stopping here.
So so.. 🤔
Best frikadel and beer in town
Best Blutwurst in town!

Iconic German pub, serves just one type of beer in half pint size. Great value and atmosphere
Altbier is not the most tasty one. Waiter was arrogant and made us to run away from this place.
Enjoyed the beer hard to beat
Good place to try traditional beer and food! Nice staff
The best
Typical German bar. Don't tell the beer you want, they will serve you the local amber beer which I found very nice. Very friendly place don't hesitate.
As the name promise 👍
Amazing Alt Bier!! Replacing your Alt Bier as soon as you finish ! Slightly more bitter taste than others but a very nice beer and great food in a very old Dusseldorf building!!
Alt bier and typical German food very genuine in the oldest Dusseldorf Brauerei .
I wanted to show a colleague from the US what Düsseldorf is all about so I took him here. We stood outside and drank alt in five degree weather together with a couple of hundred like-minded Düsseldorfer. My colleague was amazed: ten o'clock, five degrees and several hundred people are standing outside drinking beer. Is there a better introduction to Düsseldorf?
Iconic place! Great atmosphere, good beer, traditional food.
Very fun experience. Just walk in and find an open table in one of the areas not set for eating if you just want to drink some beer. Servers walk by very frequently with trays of alt bier and occasionally with snacks for purchase. Vet accessible for visitors.
Lovely beer.. One of it kind alt beer.. Would recommend if you like Alt beer.. Food options could have been better.. But overall a very good experience!!
Wonderfull place, authentic atmosphere...
Very classic and old German vibes come from this place. Beer tastes good as well. Must try bars on promenade.
